A Day in the Life of BDA

The other half of this blog is moving to Trini, and leaving me to waste away in this swampland. Yesterday we had another "say goodbye" happy hour at Adams Morgan's seediest bar, the Common Share. The "happy" hour was set to begin at 5:30, but the bar does not open for business until 6:00, so we spent a good twenty minutes on the sidewalk peering into their dirty windows. The $2 beer was so nasty, not even Dan could choke it down. I stayed for an hour or so, then got so cranky and hungry I had to leave. On the way out, I stepped in dogshit, and then I had to wait for the bus for 30 minutes....Adam said that I need to keep updating my blog with tidbits about my life, so there you go. A day in the em-eff-in life.

How about some exiting links?

There are days when I really miss Wisconsin .

I was looking for a link to Fry's turkey ranch restaurant on Route 15 near Blossburg, PA when I found this gem.

Rock on.

We're back to blogging! Yes folks, BDA WILL NOT DIE. My dear brother has vowed that he will let the world know how he spends his time on the beach in Trinidad via this blog. Stay tuned!

So, I too vow to continue blogging, if only to link to random sites and keep the dream alive.

Since I last posted, several of my friends have now become part of this blog-craze. Here are two friends' blogs: people who color my world, listen to me bitch about Greeks and classicists, and pick me up when I'm feeling down. Yes, Adam, a.k.a. the Gay Lone Ranger, and Makis, a.k.a. Thor, a.k.a. Kotsonis, a.k.a. Thelo na Fygo Apo 'do now have their own blogs.

Adam's blog is a delightful romp through compassionate conservativism, peppered with a look at how DC's gay bourgeois live (way better than the rest of us straight losers, angling for dates on weekends in Tryst). I highly recommend it, to anyone (if anyone is) reading this.

Then there's Makis' blog which, hopefully, will start broadcasting a message of hope sometime in the near future. Hang in there, Maki.

In other news, I've been making a half-hearted effort at find a poem to read at my friend Jessica's wedding. I really need to kick it into high gear and find the right poem. Here's one that didn't make the cut.

Wondering what I've been up to lately? Click here for more details. Then there was the night that Pete Rock dissed DC. But the brother and sister team at Blog Day Afternoon blame Donald Rumsfeld. And Cy Young.
